Daniel Joyce
Operations manager, Sweden

I joined TelecityGroup in February 1999 because I was attracted to becoming involved in the rapidly expanding world of the Internet. Previously, I was a project manager for Sirti Ltd, and installed mobile phone transmitters across Europe with responsibility for commissioning and handover of mobile networks. At TelecityGroup, I’m responsible for both our Stockholm sites.

Managing two sites

My typical day begins at 7am at Bromma where I’ll tour the site to monitor any customer installs, upgrade projects and have a daily progress meeting. At 9am, I’ll discuss all our activities across both sites with the country manager and then read my mail. I’ll spend the rest of the morning with our customers discussing roll out plans and projects. After that I’ll travel across Stockholm to our new data centre in Sköndal to meet with the operations supervisor.  

Earning customer trust

One of my favourite parts of the job is working with customers and earning their trust. That’s critical because they are dependent on our systems and professionalism. I’ve made great friends working at TelecityGroup and the future plans for our Stockholm operation ensure that my role will never become boring.
