Industry standards and accreditations

Security management

Many of our data centres have been awarded the ISO27001:2005 standard for security management. It specifies the requirements for establishing, implementing, operating, monitoring, reviewing, maintaining and improving a documented Information Security Management System within the context of an organisation's overall business risks. Ultimately, the standard ensures best practice for security controls to protect information assets.

In the UK, our data centres are audited by the Centre for the Protection for Critical National Infrastructure (CPNI). We take the advice of the CPNI on how to reduce the vulnerability of our infrastructure to serious threats so that we keep one of the UK’s essential services safer.

Quality management

Several of our data centres have achieved the ISO 9001:2000 standard for business quality management. It is applied to the processes that create and control the products and services that we supply, and prescribes systematic control of activities to ensure that the needs and expectations of customers are met. The standard demonstrates the existence of an effective quality management system that satisfies the rigours of an independent, external audit. 

Infrastructure Solutions

We are also a Microsoft Gold Partner and have been recognised for Advanced Infrastructure Solutions and Networking Infrastructure Solutions.

All TelecityGroup data centres will achieve ISO27001:2005 and ISO 9001:2000 standard accreditation during 2009.

Payment card security

In 2006, we were the first UK data centre provider to achieve Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) accreditation, the standard developed by Visa and MasterCard.  This standard has also now been applied to our data centres in Amsterdam. As a result, all of our customers storing credit card details, customer information and transactional data have the guarantee we comply with the 12-step security standard outlined by the leading card issuers.
