Dublin data centre overview

Our data centres are at the forefront of data centre innovation. We design every facility to provide the highest levels of resilience and redundancy in the market. Through this design, our engineering experts ensure critical IT systems are always available. We offer resilient power and cooling infrastructure along with extensive security and fire protection. Each element is monitored from our Network Operations Centre 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Power

Our data centres provide robust, reliable and resilient power to your infrastructure. We deliver this power directly to your cabinet through two separate power feeds, to ensure critical systems are always available. We understand that power is fundamental to ensuring the availability of critical systems. As a result, we operate on-site power substations, backed up with prime diesel generators.

Flexible configurations and power densities from 2kW to 9kW per rack.
Fully redundant and resilient power supplies, at a minimum of N+1, ensure guaranteed uptime.
Maximum diversity and separation of UPS system and power distribution through dedicated A&B supplies.
Every site provides back-up diesel generators capable of supporting the data centres indefinitely and for 36 hours without re-fuelling. Two geographically diverse fuel suppliers can deliver fuel within 20 minutes to any TelecityGroup Ireland data centre.

Cooling

Each of our Dublin data centres utilise a robust heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system which delivers stable air flow, temperature and humidity for efficiency equipment operation.

Minimum N+1 redundancy on chilled water-cooling system.
Fully concurrently maintainable, dual-path secondary chilled water distribution.
Close Control Units (CCUs) provide conditioned air to the data floors at a minimum N+2 redundancy.
In Northwest Business Park, chillers operate from ambient air cooling 40% of the time. This allows us to achieve leading power usage effectiveness and minimise environmental impact.

Fire detection and suppression

Monitored continuously from the each of our Dublin 24/7 network operations centres, our fire detection and suppression systems minimise risk and suppress fires quickly to isolate and prevent problems from spreading.

High sensitivity smoke detection systems (VESDA).
VESDA immediately detects airborne heat and smoke particles, notifying our on-site facility staff before a fire has an opportunity to start.
Fully addressable two-stage fire detection system that monitors the underfloor, room and ceiling void space (smoke and heat).
High-tech gas fire suppression system.

Security and access

Securing your business-critical data and systems is our priority. That’s why we adopt a multi-layered approach to security and access, operating from the outer perimeter inwards to the building.

Autonomous access control by hand geometry biometric systems with photo ID and access list requirement.
Secure monitored single-person entry.
Unified security-breach alarm with access monitoring.
27/7/365 manned security.
Secure managed delivery and loading bays.
Bespoke additional client specific security provisions available, including secured caging, private suites and zones.
Over 1500 motion-sensitive IP cameras monitor the three facilities, with 30 day retention of footage.

Support centre

Each data centre has an on-site support centre. Staffed by trained engineers 24 hours a day, the support centre provides customers with access to skilled engineering and networking professionals.

The support centre provides several types of support, from basic remote hands and inventory management to full deployment, installation and technical management of equipment.
Customers can request support by phone, email or through the customer portal.
