France-IX extends network to TelecityGroup's Condorcet facility in Paris

France-IX, the French internet exchange based in Paris and Marseille, has expanded its network with the installation of a new point of presence (PoP) in Condorcet, TelecityGroup's newest data centre in France. The new PoP will enable TelecityGroup customers present in the state-of-the-art facility with a wider range of peering and connectivity options both across France and internationally.

With a network already consisting of seven points of presence in Paris and Marseille, France-IX aims to improve the internet experience of end users in France with fast access to content, while also increasing overall reliability by adding new interconnection routes between networks. The new PoP in TelecityGroup’s highly connected facility will improve the connectivity of the network and ease the transit of internet data for French and international operators and service providers through Paris.

Franck Simon, CEO of France-IX Services commented: "We need to ensure that our network can meet the ever-increasing connectivity requirements of telecom operators and service providers in France. To ensure the maximum interconnection potential for these companies, we must have a presence in the most highly-connected data centres in Paris. For this reason, TelecityGroup’s Condorcet facility was a natural choice for the extension our network."

France-IX is already present in TelecityGroup’s Energy Park facility at Courbevoie, and through TelecityGroup's own managed fibre network in Paris, France-IX will also be able to interconnect with the operators present at Victor Hugo, the Group’s other Paris data centre. As a result, France-IX can now offer its services to all TelecityGroup’s customers located in France.

Stéphane Duproz, Country Manager, TelecityGroup France commented: "TelecityGroup already hosts four of the world's largest Internet exchange points: AMS-IX in Amsterdam, LINX in London, DE-CIX in Frankfurt and Netnod in Stockholm. France-IX's presence in our French data centres will enable us to consolidate our connectivity offering across Europe, and provide our customers with wider peering options, lower latency rates, and optimised bandwidth."
