Maurizio Carli

Independent Non-Executive Director

Maurizio Carli joined the board of TelecityGroup as an Independent Non-Execuctive Director in May 2011.  He is a member of both the Audit and Remuneration Committees. He has significant experience of managing high growth European organisations and brings direct insight into cloud computing related businesses to TelecityGroup.
 
Mr. Carli is currently Senior Vice President and General Manager EMEA for VMWare, the global leader in virtualization and cloud infrastructure. At VMWare Maurizio is responsible for managing the EMEA region.  His role extends to strategic planning, business operations and the management of key functions including sales, channels, services and marketing, continuing to grow the region at high pace.
 
Previously, Mr. Carli was at Google, where he worked on a short term assignment, and spent five years at Business Objects, where as Senior Vice President and General Manager, EMEA, he was responsible for sales, pre-sales, marketing, finance, customer support and global services.
 
Until 2002, Mr. Carli spent 19 years at IBM, latterly as Vice President of Software Group for IBM EMEA.  Overseeing a 5,000 strong division, he was in charge of driving IBM's software portfolio in the region including sales, marketing, technical support, finance and human resources. Previously, he was VP and General Manager for IBM’s Tivoli Systems Division, and also held sales and sales management positions in the government, education and healthcare sectors for IBM Italy.
 
Mr. Carli holds a BSC in electronic engineering from the Politecnico di Milano in Italy.
