De Hypotheekshop selects TelecityRedbus for secure hosting
The Netherlands largest national mortgage advisor consolidates IT infrastructure from 200 branches to improve network connectivity and resilience
Amsterdam – De Hypotheekshop, the largest national franchise organisation for mortgage advice in the Netherlands, has selected TelecityRedbus to host its entire business IT operations infrastructure.
De Hypotheekshop is consolidating its web, application and database systems from 200 offices across the Netherlands to a TelecityRedbus data centre in Amsterdam. By centralising its infrastructure, the company will improve the performance, resilience and security of its network. Half of its 200 branches have already migrated to the data centre, and the remainder will do so by the end of June 2007.
De Hypotheekshop’s Head of ICT Wouter Berman explained: “We adopt the ‘best of breed’ approach for our IT services and suppliers, selecting the best player in each respective field. TelecityRedbus is the clear leader in hosting services, and the company is now the foundation for our IT environment's security and resilience.”
Having taken the decision to outsource the hosting of its infrastructure, Berman and his team needed to ensure the security its infrastructure, as Iwan Kussendrager, TelecityRedbus account manager, explains: “De Hypotheekshop’s engineers have extremely flexible access to the data centre, but only in accordance with our strict security policy agreement. This ensures that only they can access their racks, keeping their systems safe.”
A further key reason for selecting TelecityRedbus was that it met De Hypotheekshop’s requirements for Internet connectivity. Berman comments: “It is vital that we can switch Internet access suppliers easily in order to get the most cost-effective deal. As TelecityRedbus is carrier neutral, we can choose fibre optic access from nearly all carriers active in the Netherlands. But the company also offers its own highly competitive high-availability Internet access service, IP-Multihome service, which is what we selected. "
TelecityRedbus’s IP Multihome allows any Internet business customer to host their content on multiple Tier 1 carriers simultaneously, providing superior performance and resilience.
