Mike Tobin named 'Outstanding Leader in Data Centres' for second year running
TelecityGroup CEO recognised at Data Centres Europe Awards 200816 APRIL 2008: Mike Tobin, CEO of the leading pan-European provider of network independent data centres TelecityGroup, has been named ‘Outstanding Leader in Data Centres’ at the annual Data Centres Europe awards for the second year running. In addition, the Group was runner-up in the ‘Green Award’.
Tobin fought off considerable international competition to win one of the most prestigious categories at the awards, ‘Outstanding Leader in Data Centres’. He was shortlisted by a panel of independent judges who recognised a year in which TelecityGroup delivered significant growth and achieved a successful IPO on the London Stock Exchange.

In addition to winning the ‘Outstanding Leader in Data Centres’ award, TelecityGroup was runner-up in the new ‘Green Award’. This is a special category recognising companies which have taken important steps towards understanding and managing the environmental impact of building and operating data centres. Over the past year, TelecityGroup has initiated a number of programmes to enhance the efficiency of its infrastructure while introducing environmentally responsible management and operational processes into the fabric of the company.
The Data Centres Europe 2008 awards ceremony provides a platform to raise awareness of the importance of the sector in Europe and to facilitate an independent reference point for excellence. The underlying value of the awards is to recognise leadership, innovation and value creation in the data centre and managed services sector.
