TelecityRedbus announces plans to build new Amsterdam data centre
Amsterdam, 2nd august 2007: TelecityRedbus, a pan-European operator of network independent data centres, today announced it plans to begin construction of a new data centre in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
The new data centre is to be launched in two phases with each phase providing approximately 2000 square metres of net customer space. Total customer power will be up to 8 megawatts (MW) with overall data centre power to be approximately 15 MW. The first phase of the facility is expected to be ready for customers in the second quarter of 2008, with construction of the second phase expected to begin in 2009/2010. TelecityRedbus is currently awaiting final planning permission for both phases of the site which is expected in the second half of 2007.
Following the announcement in June of a new data centre currently under construction in London, Amsterdam 4 will, on completion, be TelecityRedbus’s twentieth data centre in Europe.
