Yacast extends relationship with TelecityGroup

High-density hosting suite to provide multi-media content storage and delivery for service continuity

Paris, January 9, 2007 - TelecityGroup, the pan-European provider of network independent data centres, today announces Yacast, a global company providing monitoring and analysis of music and advertising content broadcast over the Internet, TV and radio, has extended its partnership by taking additional high density hosting space in two data centre sites in Paris.

Yacast has been a TelecityGroup customer at the site in Courbevoie for several years and has now expanded its relationship significantly by contracting for a private suite at TelecityGroup's data centre in Aubervilliers. Each of the Yacast sites in the TelecityGroup data centres are connected by a 10 Gbps fiber optic link to Yacast headquarters in Paris. The need for additional data centre space comes in response to the growing requirement for secure data storage, and robust network infrastructure to support multi-media content delivery.

Yacast generates complex reports on hundreds of TV and radio stations across Europe, underlining the increasing importance of information on listener behaviour and the commercial value of broadcasting time. In addition, it delivers content by broadcasting over the internet, TV and radio, incorporating embedded multimedia content to give an additional revenue stream.

Due to the bandwidth intensive content being delivered, it is vital for Yacast to have reliable infrastructure to guarantee service continuity; the option to rapidly increase bandwidth is an absolute must. It is also critically important for Yacast to ensure it has appropriate backup solutions in place.
