Sahar Elhabashi
Independent Non-Executive Director
Sahar Elhabashi joined the Board of TelecityGroup as an Independent Non-Executive Director in May 2011. Ms. Elhabashi is a member of both the Audit and Remuneration Committees. She brings valuable experience of the media sector to TelecityGroup having played a key role in helping build international media organisations over the last twenty years.
Ms. Elhabashi is Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer of Condé Nast’s Entertainment Division. This new division of Condé Nast is mandated with developing video content businesses based on its portfolio of magazine brands including Vanity Fair and Vogue.
Previously, Ms. Elhabashi was Chief Operating Officer of Discovery Networks International from 2007 to 2010. She was responsible for the day-to-day operations of Discovery’s international business, which distributed 17 media brands to 877 million subscribers globally. Prior to Discovery Ms Elhabashi was Executive Vice President, Strategy and Digital Media at MTV Networks International. In this role, she oversaw the rapid expansion of MTV Networks’ international digital media business in Europe, Asia and Latin America, including the launch of branded mobile TV channels and video-based websites around the world. Ms. Elhabashi also led the team that drove the negotiations for the purchase of MTV Networks’ largest international acquisition, Germany’s VIVA Media AG.
Prior to joining MTV, Ms. Elhabashi worked as a consultant for the Boston Consulting Group.
A native of Alexandria, Egypt, Ms. Elhabashi holds an MBA from Columbia Business School and a BS in Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
