TelecityGroup is granted ISO 27001 certification for its two French sites

Paris, TelecityGroup, the leading premium operator of network independent data centres and value added services in Europe, announced today that its two data centres in Paris (Courbevoie and Aubervilliers) have been granted ISO 27001 certification - the globally recognized standard for information security.

This certification attests to the good practices and procedures set up by TelecityGroup in terms of information security and risk management. It further confirms the company's commitment to quality and technical excellence and underlines the security of TelecityGroup’s own data and that of its customers. Each of the two sites were granted the certification after a rigorous audit conducted in July by Lloyd’s Register Quality Insurance Limited.

The audit and certification process covers a very broad range of fields from security policies to operational continuity management, physical security, access management, compliance with legal requirements, in-house processes and backup systems. It gives rise to the regular reassessment of risks and results in constant improvement.

ISO 270001 is the strictest international standard in information security management and enables companies to certify the security practices they adopt within their organisation. Information, integrity, confidentiality and availability are the main aspects governed by this international standard which was first published in October 2005 by the International Organization for Standardisation (ISO).

In order to maintain their certification, TelecityGroup’s data centres are subject to regular follow-up audits concerning the continuous application of these security standards. TelecityGroup also intends to achieve certification for its third Paris data centre which is scheduled to open in the second half of 2009.
