TelecityGroup retains ISO 27001 for Stockholm data centre
2 October 2009: TelecityGroup, Europe's leading provider of premium network independent data centres, has successfully retained its ISO 27001 Information Security Management certification for its Sweden data centre, Mariehällsvägen.
The International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) 270001 is the strictest international standard in Information Security Management, and enables companies to certify the security practices they adopt within their organisation. The audit process covers a broad range of fields including information, integrity, confidentiality and availability. By achieving certification, it underlines the strict practices and procedures TelecityGroup has in place to protect its customers’ critical data.
The Mariehällsvägen facility underwent thorough independent testing by an external auditor, where it achieved the highest score possible.
Niclas Sanfridsson, Managing Director of TelecityGroup, comments: “Compliance to international standards including ISO 27001 is very important to TelecityGroup customers, especially as organisations in all sectors are under increasing pressure to ensure compliance and control over their data. This achievement demonstrates TelecityGroup’s ongoing commitment to providing the highest level of security for its customers.”
In order to maintain the certification, TelecityGroup’s data centres are subject to regular follow-up audits concerning the continuous application of these security standards. TelecityGroup has an ongoing programme to achieve ISO 27001 across all its data centres in Europe over the next few months.
