TelecityGroup to support growth of Adjug's innovative advertising marketplace

New hosting model to provide the connectivity and flexibility to maintain upsurge in traffic


TelecityGroup has been selected by AdJug, the online advertising exchange, to provide a fully managed infrastructure and connectivity to support its growth across the UK, Germany, France and India.

In a market where traditional advertising revenues are falling, AdJug has enjoyed sustained growth due to its unique business model and the ease with which it enables advertisers to run flexible, highly targeted online campaigns. Founded just two years ago, the website now serves over one billion adverts per month. To guarantee a continued high quality of service despite vastly increasing user numbers, AdJug chose TelecityGroup to provide the flexible, highly connected hosting model it required.

Andrew Nappin, CTO of AdJug explains: “The success of our business model is down to the flexibility we offer both publishers and advertisers; we need our IT infrastructure to be scalable so we can meet any surges in traffic. Our existing setup did not allow us to use our own IT equipment, meaning we had little control over our systems. We chose to house our infrastructure with TelecityGroup as it offers us the connectivity and high service delivery levels our business model requires.”

TelecityGroup provides AdJug with a bespoke solution at its Powergate data centre, including firewall security, bandwidth and colocation services. Additionally, to enable effective management of the large, fluctuating peaks in traffic which had previously been a great concern for AdJug, TelecityGroup deployed load balancers in front of AdJug’s web servers. The load balancers optimise user experience, accelerating web performance five-fold and reducing server costs by up to 80 per cent.
