TelecityRedbus & Electricity Supply Board (ESB) agree new 10 year hosting contract
Resilient data centre space facilitates the storage of critical business information for compliance regulations
TelecityRedbus today announced that the Electricity Supply Board (ESB), Ireland’s largest electricity company, has signed a new 10 year hosting agreement. At the same time, ESB has extended its footprint within the TelecityRedbus data centre in Dublin to 4,000 square feet, with the addition of 1,000 square feet of managed data centre space.
ESB’s increased demand for resilient data centre space is being driven by the need to store critical business data in a secure, offsite environment. ESB is required to keep information such as customer bills and email communication for compliance purposes, and the TelecityRedbus data centre guarantees 24/7 support and security. This ensures that its IP and telecoms services are always available.
Michael Fox, Manager, IT & Telecom Services at ESB said: “We have been a TelecityRedbus customer for three years and during this time they have demonstrated the Dublin data centre is secure and able to support our continuing requirements. We are extremely satisfied with the levels of service we have received. As we started to outgrow our existing facilities it was a logical development for us to extend our agreement.”
The facility also enables ESB to offer advanced services to its customers such as wireless meter reading for large corporate customers, automating the process and removing the need to enter the premises.
