TelecityRedbus expands data centre space in London
London, 11 May 2006 – Driven by strong demand from technology customers, TelecityRedbus, Europe’s foremost data centre services provider announced today it is adding 6000 square feet to its Dockland’s data centre facilities. Demand for the new space, which will be fully functional in June, is high, with new and existing customers already confirmed as tenants. As part of its ongoing expansion strategy, TelecityRedbus also has plans to extend its facilities in Paris and Amsterdam.
TelecityRedbus has six facilities in London which are already home to over 700 leading technology and telecoms companies. TelecityRedbus is building out one of the undeveloped areas of these facilities as part of this new initiative. The new space will feature an updated design that will enable TelecityRedbus to expand its capacity and support the increased power and cooling demands of customers. This additional capability will take the available total customer area under management in the city to over 200,000 square feet and offer direct access to over 120 telecom providers, further expanding the footprint of the richest network interconnection point in the world.
TelecityRedbus’ data centre services give businesses the benefits of resilience, security, cooling, connectivity and on-site skills that can be customised to suit individual organisations’ needs. The company has 16 carrier-diverse data centre facilities across seven countries throughout Europe that are designed to meet businesses’ scalability, security and connectivity requirements. Six of these data centre locations host the main national Internet exchange points (IXPs); Amsterdam - AMS-IX, London - LINX, Frankfurt - DE-CIX, Paris - FreeIX, Dublin - INEX and Manchester - MaNAP.
