TelecityRedbus Expands European Data Centres
€20 million investment adds almost 2000 square metres of customer data centre space in key European hubs
TelecityRedbus, the leading provider of colocation, managed hosting and connectivity services in Europe, today announced the launch and development of four new facilities in its core markets of London, Amsterdam and Paris.
The €20 million developments add almost 2000 square metres of advanced high-density and managed hosting space to TelecityRedbus’s European footprint, and are the latest phase of an aggressive investment programme to meet both current and future customer demand. Details of further investments are planned to be announced later this year.
The expansion of one of Europe’s most sophisticated data centre networks will provide both new and existing customers with access to an extensive portfolio of managed infrastructure services to support their business IT infrastucture.
Mike Tobin, CEO of TelecityRedbus, comments; “The rapid growth of web-based multimedia services and applications over the last few years, and the associated rise in demand from power and cooling capabilities required to support such applications, has vastly increased demand on data centre facilities, and this trend is set to continue. Today’s announcement demonstrates our commitment to delivering not just additional data centre capacity, but the highest quality facilities and support to ensure that whatever our customers’ IT infrastructure requirements, we have the service to match.”
The new facilities and data centre expansion announced today include:
- London – TelecityRedbus has completed the construction of 230 sq. metres of dedicated high-density data centre space in its Oliver’s Yard facility capable of supporting demands of up to 20 kW per rack.
- An additional 1000 sq. metres is currently being added to the Sovereign House facility in Docklands, due for completion by the first quarter of 2008.
- Amsterdam - TelecityRedbus is developing 400 sq. metres of dedicated high-density data centre space at its facility in Amsterdam Science Park. Due for completion this summer.
